Touted as the world’s oldest bike business, Pearson Cycles was established in 1860 by Tom Pearson, Will and Guy are now the fifth generation to continue the family business. While proud of its heritage, Pearson have always paved a path that follows modern trends in cycling. It was only a matter of time until that path hopped off the tarmac and paths of a more gravel based nature.
Pearson Off Grid
The performance cycle specialist already has a titanium gravel frame in its offering, the intriguingly named ‘Summon the Blood’. The company has now bolstered its adventure range with the carbon Off Grid. Drawing on years of experience and technical know-how.
The Pearson Off Grid is an agile carbon gravel bike, custom-built to tackle the toughest gravel paths – while remaining smooth and manoeuvrable on tarmac. Forward thinking design means the frame can take both wheel sizes with a max of 700x42c or 650bx55.
Pearson equip the Off Grid with Shimano latest GRX groupsets and you can choose between GRX 600, GRX 800 mechanical or GRX 810 electronic. Depending on your preference and budget, you can also choose between two wheelsets – DCR 30mm deep alloy, or the Hoopdriver Bump and Grind carbon.
Prices start at £2,900 for a Shimano GRX 600 and DCR alloy wheelset equipped Off Grid. While the range topping GRX 810 Di2 with carbon rims retails at £5,000.
Personalisation is just as important on gravel as it is on the road and the Off Grid is available in matt orange on matt deep blue and matt olive on matt black.
The Pearson Off Grid can be bought online or in the Sheen store.
