News on a new pair of triangles just in from Ribble. The Gravel 725 is a triple butted Reynolds 725 frame with carbon fork, room for 700x45c or 650x47c tyres plus internal cable routing.
Ribble pitch this very much at being a great all rounder that will provide a comfortable ride and robust to take some hard times. Jamie Burrow who is the Ribble Head of Product says… “The gravel 725 offers greater accessibility to the genre providing a more classic aesthetic and unique ride quality that comes with the Reynolds steel frame. Overall, this addition provides greater choice and diversification across the whole platform alongside an exhilarating enhanced riding proposition for whatever your chosen style of off-road riding”. It looks clean and simple to us and should be a good ride.
The Gravel 725 comes in 3 builds or frameset which is £1,299. The builds all appear to have the same wheels, tyres (Halo GXC rather than the WTB’s pictured) and finishing kit with the groupset being the difference between them.
Here are the features –
Sizes: XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL
Build 1: Sport £2,099 – SRAM Apex 1
Build 2: Enthusiast £2,399 – moves the Apex up to SRAM Rival
Build 3: Pro £2,899 sees the 1×12 SRAM Rival XPLR AXS doing the shifting
Each build can be fine tuned with the Ribble BikeBuilder from sizes XXS through to XL (rider height 150cm to 191cm) . It comes in Matt Air Force Blue and is equipped with enough zits for short blasts to weekends away with too much stuff you wish you never packed. We think it looks pretty decent and a likely safe way to get into gravel or upgrade from something more basic. Sensible spec choices make them easy to look after and for those who fancied a gravel bike from Ribble but didn’t want carbon or alloy, then it’s time for you to take a look.
