For 2019, the Hook has evolved to become a pure gravel bike. Topping the range is the new ADV, which we previewed during the recent Bombtrack Groundwork event. Behold it in all its suspension fork and dropper post equipped glory.
Bombtrack have taken everything they loved about mountain bikes in the 90’s, and built it into a fun, modern, drop bar beauty.
It’s inspired by the John Tomac-era of our youth when pros would still race cross-country on drop bars, but its geometry is designed from the ground up to be a hyper-gravel bike.
The Highlights
The MRP Baxter fork has 40mm of travel. Meanwhile, the KS dropper post lets you tackle technical sections with confidence. Huge tyres from WTB, and a Ritchey equipped cockpit (including the flared WCS Venturemax bars) show the ADV means business.
The fork takes a 27.5×2.25” tyre while the (mismatched) rear triangle takes a 2.0″. As with the EXT, the frame is made of Columbus Cromor double butted tubing. As the fork lacks the usual braze-ons, Bombtrack have included ‘anything cage’ mounts on each seatstay.
Available as a complete build only and retailing for £3,700 the Hook ADV will be available somewhere between end of September and end of October. Production of this unique bike will be very limited, so if you want to be in with a chance of securing one of these in the UK, contact distributor Lyon Outdoor to find your nearest dealer.
