Bikepacking – event planning
With bikepacking rapidly becoming the new ‘thing’, organised events are popping up all over the place. How do you keep track of them all? How can you target the right mix of distance, surfaces and geographical location?
The obvious answer is to arm yourself with a pot of coffee, a packet of chocolate hobnobs (or similar) and get online. If you are lucky, you will find an event calendar to guide your browsing. Otherwise, prepare yourself for a long night.
On the other hand…
Apidura have released an interactive event calendar that takes a lot of the hard work out of the job. Set the filters and watch the shortlist pop up in seconds. Basically, we are looking at fairly simple tech but the user interface is pretty cool.
The calendar includes everything from the world’s biggest ultra-distance bikepacking races, like the Transcontinental Race or the Tour Divide, to one-day gravel grinders, week-long leisure rides, handmade bike shows, and film festivals. We hope it inspires our community by shining a light on both well known and lesser known events around the world, and enables people to discover the potential that’s out there.’’
As Apdiura are synonymous with bikepacking, it makes a lot of sense for them to become known as a resource, or hub for event news. Apart from anything else, you can check out some pretty cool kit at the same time!
Conversely, if you are an event organiser and you want to get your event noticed on as big a stage as possible, this has to be your first port of call. The best way to get in touch with Apidura regarding your event is to make contact on firstname.lastname@example.org
